Mosey & Mosey Happenings
Educational Seminar
Guest Speaker: Celebrity Economist, Don Drummond
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:
Financial gurus are a hot commodity these days, and no one is more sought-after than the former TD Bank’s chief economist, Don Drummond. When he talks, people listen—even if they do not like what he has to say.
The highly anticipated Drummond Commission report on reforming Ontario’s government to trim a $16 billion deficit will be released on February 15, 2012.
Don Drummond was hired by the Ontario Government to review all programs and services and find ways of lowering costs. Drummond told Premier Dalton McGuinty last fall that Ontario would have to cap the overall increase in government spending at one per cent a year until the deficit is eliminated in 2017-18.
Mr. Drummond will provide an overview of his report, give background on his recommendations and the potential impact to all levels of government, with a particular emphasis on municipalities.
